Prayers and Squares

Prayers & Squares is an interfaith outreach organization that combines the gift of prayer with the gift quilt that has ties placed on it for prayers.
Asbury United Methodist Church in downtown Harrisonburg began this ministry this fall. It is not unusual for at least two quilts to grace the altar area each week. We would like to help other churches offer this ministry.
Every Thursday at 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. the classroom will be open for use by Prayers and Squares members. Everyone is welcome!
You can find more info about this ministry at www.prayerquilt.org.
Bernina Guide Classes
Now that you have an amazing machine, it's time to complete training for your Bernina! These classes are available at no cost for all new and used Bernina machines purchased from Patchwork Plus. If you need a class repeated, there is a $20 fee for each level. A 166 page workbook for all of the machines is available for $25. The same workbook is available on a CD for $5. Please let us know before class so that we can have a copy for you.
Level 1 must be taken before proceeding to the other levels. The only exception will be if you have previously owned a similar Bernina sewing machine. Bring your machine, all accessories, books, thread, scissors, pen, and paper to class. Registration is necessary. After Level 1 and Level 2 are completed, you will be scheduled for embroidery and software classes if applicable.
All classes are taught by Bernina Certified and trained instructors. Remember, not all sewing machine training is the same. Our strength is our educational program. We encourage you to take both levels. If your Bernina was purchased elsewhere, call us for pricing (value $20 per hour).
