Prayers and Squares
Every Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Prayers & Squares is an interfaith outreach organization that combines the gift of prayer with the gift quilt that has ties placed on it for prayers.
Asbury United Methodist Church in downtown Harrisonburg began this ministry this fall. It is not unusual for at least two quilts to grace the altar area each week. We would like to help other churches offer this ministry.
On Thursday, April 3rd at 4 p.m. we will have an information session about prayers and squares—how to get started, a trunk show of our prayer quilts and more. Then every Thursday at 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. the classroom will be open for use by Prayers and Squares members.
You can find more info about this ministry at www.prayerquilt.org.It's Not Rocket Science: Beginning Quilting

Getting Started with Art & Stitch
For your Handi Quilter Pro Stitcher
June 13 10:00-5:00 p.m.
Art and Stitch is a powerful, amazing and easy to use drawing, digitizing, and quilt layout software. Mary Beth will give you a great introduction to creating unique designs simply and easily (even if you can't draw!). Come see what the buzz is all about.
Bring a laptop computer with Art and Stitch loaded (not the Pro-Stitcher tablet). The trial version of Art and Stitch is fine; you will be able to do all the exercises, you just won't be able to save your results. Bring a wired mouse; a mouse is much easier to draw with than the mouse pad built into laptops. Bring a notebook and a pencil and an open mind.
